Spin:
Spinning is a group cycling class which has taken the world by storm. Picture this:
a group of motivated individuals pushing their bodies to the limit, and encouraging each other all the while. Taking place on our state of the art stationary spin bikes, you’ll ride to the rhythm of the music and work up a sweat, whilst being guided by a knowledgeable and motivated instructor!
Our classes are suitable for the newbie and complete novice, as well as the grizzled veterans. Spin has many benefits for cardiovascular health, and endurance, and also gives you a buzz which is hard to match!
Women’s Weights:
Our women’s weights class is exactly what it says on the tin. A women only class which focuses on the more traditional forms of gym-based strength training, while incorporating some conditioning and core work to spice things up!
This is a great class for all levels of experience, and provides a safe and welcoming environment for the beginner who wants to find their feet, and the more experienced gym goer who may want to freshen things up or learn some new exercises and movements.
Weight Lifting Club:
The weightlifting club is suitable for both novices and experienced lifters, those who want to learn the basics of weightlifting, and those who need a challenge or form critique. Train in a welcoming environment with like-minded individuals, under the guidance of an experienced coach.
Senior Strength:
The health benefits of strength training are well documented in the modern day, and this is particularly true for more senior individuals in our community. Building and maintaining strength, mobility and mass are essential for a good quality of life! Regular exercise and training reduces the risks of fails, frailty, and sarcopenia - to name but a few, but also to keep up with the grandkids!
The senior strength class aims to help people over 60 get involved in the gym and regular training with the aim of encouraging a healthy lifestyle and improving quality of life. Incorporating a mix of bodyweight, bands, free-weights, and machines, there is something here for everyone.
All levels of experience are welcome! Pop in and try it for yourself.
12-Week Programmes:
Get results with our 12-Week Programmes, these programmes are designed using a scientific approach to training and nutrition. Work with our coaches on an individual level to ensure you make good headway in achieving your elected health and fitness goal.
The great news is you don't need to be a Birr Leisure Centre member to join in! We normally run 4-5 programmes a year, with a limited intake to ensure we maintain our high standards of delivery, and ensure each person gets the attention they need.

Programmes:
Our coaches can design a programme designed to suit your goals, needs, and abilities. All this takes is a 60-minute session to assess your current ability level and teach you various exercises and lifts.
Price:

Induction:
Learn to use our machines correctly from our coaches, ensuring you limit the risk of injury and get an idea of which machines are suitable for specific body parts and goals. This service is 60-minutes, and we can accommodate up to 3 people at once.

Personal Training:
We provide personal training on a 1-to-1 basis, as well as in groups as large as 3 people. The aim of our personal training service is to help our clients achieve their personal targets and goals, helping them to strive toward becoming the best version of themselves, whether that be building strength and confidence, recomposition, weight loss - among others.
Building an individualised programme, best suited to your needs, abilities, and goals, we will help to guide you through the gym. Whether you’re a complete novice, or a veteran of the game, we can help you and push you that extra distance.
As coaches, we try to educate and enforce best practice policies, and safe use of equipment. Providing you with the knowledge and foundation from which to progress your training should you finish your time with us, at any stage.
